How To Get CONTACT LENSES

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM YOUR OPTICIAN

Ready to try contact lenses? Once you have found your optician, here’s what to expect from your first appointment to regular check-ups.

YOUR FIRST CONTACT LENS APPOINTMENT

Make sure you let your optician know that you wish to try contact lenses when booking an appointment, as this first appointment usually takes a little longer than a regular eye examination. The optician will review your eye health history and check your vision, ensuring that contact lenses are suitable for your vision correction needs. The shape of your eye will be assessed so that your lenses fit just right. The optician will show you how to put on and take off the lenses, as well as how to care for them. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask your optician.

Follow Up Appointment

After about a week of getting used to your contact lenses, you’ll return to the optician for a follow-up visit. If at any time before this you have any concerns about comfort, vision or handling, always contact your optician straight away. If you’re loving your lenses and your optician is happy that everything is going well, you will be able to order an initial supply.

Regular Check Ups

Your vision correction needs can change over time. Make sure to visit your optician as requested to check the health of your eyes and that you are still wearing the right contact lens prescription and the lens that best suits your needs.
